Pensacola Easy Living

Sounds like a song by the Doobie Brothers, well Southern comfort and all the other clichés apply to southern living. Endless sunny skies, hot and humid but nothing that a beer or two can’t fix. A thunderstorm or two in the afternoon clears the air and replenishes the green colour of the trees. Beautiful warm evenings with a purple sky as the sun sets, shining its last beams on the clouds. A swig of cold beer and a nice cigar completes the picture.
The only real work we do is spraying, and we do a lot of spraying. Sunscreen, insect repellant and odor spray is the order of the day and Americans just love to spray, they even have their cheeses in a spray can, convenient to say the least but you can debate the taste.
We’re staying at Isol´s fathers house and having a blast, there is a swimming pool in the backyard and a big barbeque on the porch. The house is a refuge from the heat with its air conditioning, without it we’d be roasted.
We will probably stay here for at least two weeks before our long journey through America. We plan on driving a lot in the first days clearing the south and middle parts of the country as soon as we can. We’ll head for Little Rock, of Clinton fame, and take interstate 40 from there. We’ll head for The Grand Canyon and make our way slowly to Canada from there. I hope to take a lot of photographs along the way in all of the majestic places we’ll pass through, hopefully I can use some of them in my school assignments next winter.

Last night we had dinner at the home of Felicia and Julian, they are a couple that know Fanney, Isol´s aunt. We had Chicken that was roasted with a open beer can inside, it was delicious, with it we had real corn, corn on the cob as it is called here in America, fantastic meal and great company.
Well these are the news up until now so until the next Internet pit stop we say goodbye.
